Showcasing The Bride
One of the best things you can do to make your pictures standout and to make them different and unique. One way for wedding pictures is to put brides in settings that are not what one would typically think about on their wedding day. Most people think of that wedding pictures will be of a bride with a church setting or maybe even at a reception. That is normal and expected. Because it is the norm, the photos usually do not standout as something special. In the competitive wedding photography field, if you don't stand out, you are lost in the masses. You must make yourself memorable.
The picture above of the bride on a bar talking with some dude sitting at the bar certainly sparks the interest of the viewer. What the heck is she doing laying on a bar and what the heck is she saying to this guy? It really draws the viewer into the image as they try and dissect the meaning of it. Trash The Wedding Dress
A great way to get another use out of the wedding dress after your wedding day is to do a trash the dress session. This is a photo session where a bride gets back into her wedding dress for one last session in her dress. The bride usually does this a few years after their wedding, before they start a family or she gains a few too many pounds so she can't fit in the dress anymore. The bride then proceeds to do things that they would never do in their wedding dress on their wedding day. This includes things like getting dirty, wet, or even spray painting the dress. The bride above did all of those things 2 years after her wedding and loved every minute of it.
